Five roof terraces guaranteed to give you holiday envy

Hotel roof bars and pools are all well and good, but the roof terrace is private to just you (and whoever's worthy of an invite). Whether you want to host an after party or create a romantic hideaway for two, villa rooftop terraces provide some of the best holiday-porn going:

La Trasita, Amalfi Coast

One of the most unique roof terraces belongs to the La Trasita property in Positano, Italy. The distinctive apartment occupies the top level of a 14th century Saracen tower, complete with a private circular rooftop terrace. Sleeping two people, La Trasita is an exceptional romantic retreat, with curved staircases taking you from one floor to the next and incredible sea views from arched windows.

Ca’n Castello, Ibiza

Set in rock strewn gardens, Ca’n Castello is a fine example of modern architecture with a chic design that heavily features natural elements of stone and wood. Built with glass walls, the exquisite roof terrace makes the most of the 360° panoramic views over the ocean, villa’s private pool and Balearic countryside. The terrace has a docking station – ideal for after parties or recreating the magic of Café del Mar during the day.

The Paris Syndrome - How Idealization Could Ruin Your Health

The Paris Syndrome

There is a city so big and popular that it comes with its own syndrome? I'm not talking about Stockholm or Jerusalem, but about Paris (as the title of this article has already suggested).

If you haven't heard of the Paris Syndrome, here is what it's all about:
Every year, there are around a million Japanese tourists in Paris. Each of them comes with big expectations for the city. But around 20 (annually) of the tourists have their dreams shattered. This causes different psychological and physical symptoms, which need taking care of. The Japanese embassy has a special hotline for cases like this.

The symptoms could include anxiety, hallucinations, nausea, depression, feeling angry or acting hostile, dizziness and much more. Everybody could get different symptoms, this is why not everyone (specially French doctors) agree that this is a syndrome. But there are similarities between all the patients. And psychiatrist have discovered the main reason for this phenomenon.

10 Really Dumb Ways To Die

Old age, illness or a heavy duty accident - those are the most common deaths we face in the world. However, there are those truly unlucky folk, who die in equal parts comic and tragic situations. Here are the ten most dumb ways to die.

1. The Magic Trick

Tommy Cooper, a famous British illusionist died on stage in front of millions of viewers behind the telly. In 1984, he was making an appearance in Her Majesty's Theatre.
While he was presenting his act, he collapsed due to a heart attack. The most tragic in the situation is the public including his assistant all though it was a joke or a part of the act and laughed their heads off while the man passed away

The Greatest Aerodynamic Shape Created By Man

We know very well how overcoming wind resistance is to modern day transportation. A not so aerodynamic shape costs us speed, fuel and in some cases effort, if the vehicle is propelled without the use of an engine.

Massive research campaigns, hundreds of scientists and mechanics and millions of dollars have been laboured with the task to create the ultimate aerodynamic shape.

Wind tunnels and complex computer-aided calculations have benefited the automotive industry for years to create some of the most powerful and efficient vehicles in the world.

The F1 Championship is the top of the chain in vehicular construction and development.

All this said, the question of aerodynamics still lies unanswered. While we do become a lot better and versed in this field, we've yet to completely break free of wind resistance.

How to Have a Super Sweet Body without Getting up From Your Lazy A$$

diet schemes
Just now you have the wonderful one-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get in shape and be able to hit the beach right on time. What's even better is that you can do it right from your couch, without moving a muscle. How is that possible? Scientists have made an extraordinary research which can change dieting for good. No more hunger, no more sweating, just this simple solution.

If this was possible it would be the new American dream. Heck, it would be the European dream, too. Obesity is becoming a greater problem and even though there are thousands "proven" diets, magnificent inventions that you can use even in your home, people are still too lazy to do something about it.

Everyone is so desperate to find the cure for fatness and the miraculous way for losing weight with simple steps. People have to realise it won't happen. You will continue to be fat as long as long as you stay on your bum the whole day.

Just to make my point of view more reasonable why don't we take a look at two very big diseases very common in the modern western world: bulimia and anorexia. This is what the great George Carlin has to say:

You really can't call it a disease. It's not a virus or some bacteria, it's not contagious. It's all in the head of very narcissistic person, who only think how he/she looks in other people's eyes. "But some people are doing it, because society made them". Sure... society told you to be anorexic and to puke all of your food.

Outsourcing is King

Last night I watched a video that just became viral and was featured on most social networks. “Who pays the price?” is a video that uncovers the ugly truth behind electronics manufacturing and the impact it has on the ones who do the actual work.

Uncovers is not really true in the sense that it's a new discovery, it simply reminds the issue and stacks the facts against the well know apple corporation.

When I looked for the producer of the video I found an American non-profit organization, which aims to develop green economy and sustainable technology, so the world will be free of problems... Fat chance...

Anyway, I was directed to a digital petition to the head of Apple, Inc. – Tim Cook. Infuriated by the video, I was a click away from sending the pre-written message, when I glanced to see what I was actually sending.

Bad For The Health Is Good For Business

PM2.5 has been a buzzword in China for the last couple of years. With the Air Quality Index (AQI) scaling beyond the borders of the scale itself, the air pollution in the biggest cities of the country has reached new levels of bad.
Due to the heavily industrialised east coast of the country and the severely outdated technology in production, the air in major cities and centres has become seriously hazardous to the inhabitants.
PM2.5 is a particle of size 2.5 micrometers or less. It's easily inhaled and is the reason for many lung and respiratory problems including cancer. It's small enough to lodge in the cavities of the insides of the lungs and stay there for good (...or rather - bad).

That said, you must already know that buzzwords are the manna of God to business developers and entrepreneurs. You see, the thing with buzzwords is everybody has seen or heard of them, even though they might not know what they mean or stand for. They're recognizable and identifiable within seconds, and that is exactly what the people mentioned above aim for.

To create a brand everyone knows and has heard of takes years and years of marketing campaigns and advertising efforts, but buzzwords are already at that step, without time or investment.
So what do you do? You incorporate them into the product you develop and research and BAM! – instant publicity and mass recognition. Your product is already there with the simple word written on the label, or the packaging.

With PM2.5 being the major leader in the ladder in terms of health in China, naturally, people have found a way to make serious money from it.

Morning Showers As A Means Of Meditation

The modern world and digital era, although full of benefits, also brings a negative impact to us. It's always the lack of time, the fast-paced life, the technology that always connects us to something, the distractions that keeps us from focusing.
It's hard to be alone with yourself. We hardly even have time to look at ourselves in the mirror, let alone focus on our soles.
Meditation is something now spoken of as if a term for a past time – a forgotten practice, replaced by status updates, apps, chats and TV channels. We can't seem to help our bodies, let alone our souls.
For the past couple of years, many people have told me I take too much time in the shower, as I generally take at least thirty minutes for the daily wash.

Meow Meow and Other Horrific Drugs

We all love browsing the internet. We love to check out some news sites, browse Reddit and see some funny articles and pictures. Every now and then you see some really bizarre and shocking story you just feel obligated to share.

At the beginning of this year a horrific accident occurred in the United Kingdom. A 19-year-old lad stabbed his mother and to make things even more interesting he cut off his peepee. It is said that this strange action happened thanks to a drug called Meow Meow.

It sound cute and fluffy. You might even think of Colonel Meow or the beloved cabaret star with the same name. But this has nothing to do with it. The drug's real name is Mephedrone and you might have heard it as Drone or MCAT.

Colonel Meow
It's not as popular as other poisons on the market, but it has similar effects as amphetamines, ecstasy or cocaine. But probably thanks to this news story people will be looking for it in dark alleys. You know what they say - "There is no such thing as bad publicity". And drug dealers were probably just waiting for something similar to happen.

The story made me think about other weird and horrific drugs. So I decided to make a small list of really dangerous substances which made the news with some monstrous stories.

Social Media Behind The Curtains

Needles stamped with popular social media site's banners.

Social media - a term burned into the cerebrum of the whole world. Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, LinkedIn - you name it - we know it like the back of our hand, some even better. But why is our world revolving around these seductive networks for the past ten years?

As a freelance writer, I do my job in front of the laptop and naturally have an account in most media for one reason or another. Sometimes for professional purposes like to promote my content, other times for information, news and trends, or for creating social networks and meet and befriend new people. I won't lie, I spend a quite few hours a day into social media sites and most of them are logged the whole time while I'm on the computer.

So, an image I saw today poked my curiosity into why am I compelled to maintain these profiles and update my statuses or read other people's, why are social media sites so attractive and how do they keep me coming back? After some thought and going through some materials on studies, here is what my answer is.

The Low Carb, High Fat Diet

I started the LCHF diet. That's low carb, high fat. When I first heard of it I was really sceptical. You would be, too. All of our lives people have been saying how good carbohydrates are and to avoid fat as much as possible. Every doctor, every commercial, every magazine is telling us the wrong things. We were artificially programmed to think that carbs are good, they give us more energy, it lowers the chance of getting heart diseases and it will make us look better. Turns out it's all a big lie.

The Real Food Pyramid
If you really prefer to stay blind, don't read this article. I am not a dietitian, just a regular guy, who wants to eat healthy. Found this diet and I am feeling much better than ever before. But for that to happen it took some time, dedication and a lot of reading.

What is LCHF diet?

Basically the title says it all. You need to lower as much as possible your carbohydrates consumption and eat as much fat as possible. Why? What you know about food is that carbs are good, because they are giving you energy which is very important for your body. Yes, it gives you energy, but at what price? Did you know that your body transforms the carbs into fat? This has been scientifically proven two centuries ago.

Snoring is a very common issue. A lot of people ask how to stop snoring, how to deal with it and there are plenty of solutions. The problem is you have to find out the reason for your issue. How to stop snoring? If you are living with a partner, snoring could cause a lot of tension in your relationship - not allowing your mate to have a good sleep for days, months or even years is really irritating. Supplements You Need for Bulking Up

People are trying all different ways to gain weight. Weight loss might be a more popular topic, but gaining it is also as important. And some people are trying it all – eating different foods, trying diets, eating a lot or eating junk food, training and never doing cardio. The problem with some is their bodies have incredibly fast metabolisms so regular food is not enough. This is why scientists have came up with the idea for supplements. They give you the right nutritions, for which you would have to eat a huge amount of food, to get them the natural way.

What supplements do you need for bulking up? Some people are sceptical and think supplements will ruin your body. It might be true, if you are buying some cheap products. It also might be true, if you are buying the wrong things for your body. And we are talking about supplements, not steroids.
